A series of case studies showcasing how Google News Initiative partners with newsrooms around the world
Challenge
In 2021, the Google News Initiative was preparing to host a Global Summit. To show the impact of their partnership with journalists and publishers around the world, they asked us to create a series of case studies aligned with their brand ethos.
Solution
We developed a creative framework that embraced on-the-ground b-roll to immerse viewers in the world of each featured news organization, then oversaw productions from New Orleans to New Delhi.
The final case studies played throughout the Global Summit, including the keynote address, and continue to be leveraged at events, in newsletters, and on social.

Beyond the docu-style framework, we developed a secondary approach that allowed us to tell stories with only design and photography—which was helpful for journalists and publishers who had limited availability.
We leveraged the footage we captured to create short social videos. These increased awareness around the work of the Google News Initiative and helped promote upcoming events and workshops.
We also shared photography and pulled quotes to further support content needs for web, social, and events.
